About
Hello. My name is Sam Care. I’m a freelance producer-director working in short-form factual and observational documentary.

Over the years, I have carved out a niche telling stories about people and their work. My films are character-led and built around spending time with people as they go about their working lives.

With an emphasis on clarity, fun, patience, and building trust, I like to draw attention to craft, human connection, and the meaning people find in their daily work.

My films often take place in specialist or everyday working environments, from workshops, offices and businesses to factories, farms and laboratories. My focus is on translating lived experience into engaging, accessible stories for a wide audience.

Alongside the selected films shown here, I have produced a substantial number of short-form documentary and factual films for public-facing and institutional clients across science, culture, business and industry.

I am currently working on a short film series for the Alan Turing Institute, following SME founders as they responsibly use AI to grow their businesses.
